My name is Mary-Jane Evans, welcome and thank you for visiting my website.
The main theme in my work is the transformation of materials which echo the forces, metaphors, substance and history within the Dorset landscape. Pushing materials to their extremes is fundamental to my work. My Welsh roots make my medium, slate, emotionally charged. I use exciting and unpredictable techniques combining porcelain, corrosive materials and minerals using the kiln as a time machine to scar and erode my pieces.
